Will Godward is a former two-time Australian Olympian and an award-winning nightscape astrophotographer based in South Australia. A proud South Australian, Will spends much of his time touring the remote outback and regional landscapes of the state, drawing on deep local knowledge to access and capture some of Australia’s darkest skies and most extraordinary locations.

His work has been featured by major news outlets, Australian Geographic, and NASA, and he has collaborated with international space and aerospace companies to showcase the Australian night sky on a global stage. Will is known for travelling Australia’s iconic landscapes and reimagining them after dark, revealing the Milky Way Galaxy and rare astronomical events rising over familiar and remote terrain.

With a strong focus on storytelling and place, Will’s goal is to create a personal connection between the viewer and the night sky, highlighting the scale, beauty, and majesty it declares. His passion lies in capturing large, high-definition, multi-layer panoramic images that encompass as much of the sky as possible, preserving moments of natural darkness in an increasingly illuminated world.
