What to bring

  • Digital DSLR or Mirrorless camera.

  • Lens, preferably your widest and fastest lens ( 10-24mm ) ( f2.8-f4 or faster )

  • Spare Batteries ( Cold nights can drain lithium batteries fast )

  • Tripod with Ball Head

  • Intervalometer or cable release. Unless camera has internal feature.

  • Star Tracker - Optional

  • Headlamp with red light option ( Red light is critical for dark adaptation )

  • Torch ( Used when scouting locations )

  • Sturdy shoes for walking

  • Warm clothing ( The warmer you are the more comfortable you will be capturing the night sky )

  • Snacks and beverages

Itinerary

  • Meet at the designated time at the chosen pre-location.

  • Discussion of the evening's plans to ensure everyone has the correct camera settings before leaving.

  • Head out together to start the night’s adventure.

  • Scout location for the best compositions.

  • 1 hour / Post-processing online class. Instructions on the use of Lightroom, Photoshop for Astrophotography.
